Financial Institution Data Matching

“We have a match!”

Financial Institution Data Matching (FIDM) requires all financial institutions doing business within each state to conduct a quarterly data match. The data match links the names of parents delinquent in their child support obligations with their financial accounts. When a match is identified, the state Child Support Enforcement (CSE) program may issue liens or levies on the accounts of the delinquent obligor to collect past-due child support.

Informatix, More Than Ready to Help

With the advent of FIDM initiatives, Informatix quickly developed a secure web-based technology tool that matches the names of non-custodial parents to their accounts. FundFinder® is proven as adept at making data matches swiftly and accurately, and is an invaluable component of CSE programs nationwide. We also provide outreach services to bring stakeholders such as financial institutions on board with FIDM programs.

States Prefer to Partner With Informatix

Because of early successes in FIDM processing, Informatix has become the leader of a 15-state FIDM Alliance. The Alliance results in shared goals, processes, and technology between Informatix and State CSE agencies. In addition, we support independent states by tailoring an approach and solution that is right for them. Today, Informatix is the largest provider of FIDM services in the U.S., a statistic we are proud of and one that demonstrates our commitment to this important service. Informatix' work with the FIDM States has resulted in the location of over $10 billion in assets — which represents a bounty of Child Support going to families and children.

New Applications for Data Matching Technology

Informatix is exploring ways to apply its data matching technology to benefit other state agencies. Imagine applying a tool such as Informatix' FundFinder® to the sharing of financial data between TANF, Child Support, Child Welfare, and state tax collection agencies. The possibilities are boundless.
